Pick a stock I’m okay holding long-term—I'm choosing Amazon and buying 100 shares. 2. Go to Trade then Trade Options 3. Set the expiration date—I’ll select a 30-45 day expiration and make sure my toggles are on. Since I’m willing to sell at $235 per share, I’ll choose a $235 strike price. 4. Sell 1 contract for around $725—I’ll hit Review and Submit. Here’s the deal: If Amazon stays below $235 by expiration, I keep the $725 in premium and my 100 shares. If Amazon goes above $235, I sell my shares at $235, making $200 in capital gains plus keeping the $725 premium. Either way, it’s a win!
