In this video, I show step by step how I transfer my final sketch for a children's book illustration I'm working on for my portfolio! I'm using a projector and Arches hot-press 140 lb watercolor paper. This is the 6th step in a step-by-step illustration process mini-series of creating a full-spread kids' book illustration, from figuring out layouts, up through to painting the final piece. STEPS 1-5 are HERE, in case you missed them: STEP 1: • Step 1: Brainstorming Thumbnail Layouts: C... STEP 2: • Step 2: Full-size Rough Sketch: Creating a... STEP 3: • Step 3: Making the Value Study: Creating a... STEP 4: • Step 4: Colors Guide for Painting!: Creati... STEP 5: • Step 5: The Detailed Sketch: Creating a Ch... This illustration is part of a 3-piece set (it's classy like that), so there's no character designing included, since they're already figured out. But if you're interested in that aspect too, let me know and I'll see what I can do! I hope you'll find something in my kidlit illustration process helpful or useful! The important parts are in real time, with repetitive bits sped up to save you time. If you have any questions about my value study creation process, just let me know. I'll share what I can. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - MATERIALS: Solid blank vertical space to work on (I'm using the back of a bookcase.
