19 September 2023 will mark 20 years since the beginning of Peep Show, the sitcom following socially awkward loan manager Mark Corrigan (played by David Mitchell) and not-particularly-aspiring musician Jeremy "Jez" Usbourne (Robert Webb). Thanks to its unique style (filmed using point-of-view camera angles and soundtracked by the warped-yet-relatable inner monologues of its protagonists), Peep Show quickly developed a cult following. That following grew steadily and certainly, with Peep Show eventually becoming Channel 4's longest running sitcom. The success of the show is mirrored in the success since enjoyed by all those involved, from acting duo Mitchell and Webb to acclaimed writing duo Sam Bain and Succession creator Jesse Armstrong – and supporting cast including Olivia Colman. In 2008, ITN spoke to David Mitchell and Robert Webb ahead of the BAFTAs about the upcoming release of Peep Show series five.
