This is a fantastic Texas native plant that blooms practically year round. It is drought tolerant and is a favorite of bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. It is easy to grow from seed and blooms shortly after transplanting. Technically a tender perennial, it was one of the first plants to bounce back after the Christmas freeze of 2022. It dropped to 23F for a couple of days, and the plant froze back to the ground, but was greening up in a week or so. By March it was waist high and covered in flowers and bees!
