Cobra 2000 GTL with Extra Channels on the cheap. #cbradio #cobracbradio #vintagecbradio In this video I install a simple crystal kit to add 80 extra channels to my Cobra 2000GTL. I have had this kit laying around for a few years and decided to try it out on the 2K. I have done crystal kits in the past on old 23 channel rigs back in the day but never done anything to a PLL CB Radio. So while I'm trying to decide on a DDS VFO or a old school REDCO DIGISCAN I thought I would try the crystal swap. Please understand.... This mod is temporary. NOTE...... After using the radio for another day I realigned each of the crystals so no clarifier was needed each time I switched bands. All is good so far and I may get in and adjust or check VCO for a bit better coverage. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
