(20 Sep 2019) Dozens of students and environmental activists rallied in India's capital urging immediate action to combat climate change. The demonstrators included primary school students as they assembled outside India's Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and chanted slogans demanding government action on climate change. The protest is part of a day of worldwide demonstrations ahead of a United Nations climate summit in New York. They carried banners with some displaying messages like "There is no Earth B" and "Eco, not ego!" and rolled out an effigy of Ravana, a Hindu mythological demon, to represent climate change as evil. Asees Kandhari, a basketball player, said her tournaments have been cancelled for the last two years due to high air pollution in New Delhi.
