Turn on subtitles/CC's if you'd like explanations on what I'm doing throughout the video. This is a 1966 F100, but it's indeed much more than just that. Back in the 1970's this thing was hot rodded with a 390 v8 and the famous wide - ratio Toploader four speed out of a Ford car. Shortly thereafter, in the early 80's, it was parked in a field for 40 years before it was purchased by the gentleman I bought it from, he got it and had hopes to work on it but never got around to doing anything with it. He did tell me that the engine is likely junk, indicative by the fact that the headers are near completely rusted off, the oil pan was filled with water and the cylinders full of rust. Nonetheless, let's give this engine the benefit of the doubt. Chapters: 00:00 - Bringing it home 03:10 - First look under the hood 05:16 - Rusted cylinders, cleaning the engine, removing rocker shafts 10:12 - Is it seized? 12:13 - Servicing the valve train 16:29 - Battery 18:09 - Water in the oil 19:23 - Trying the starter, building oil pressure, testing compression 23:14 - Carburetor, seized. 31:01 - Getting spark 34:14 - Reinstalling the valve covers 36:08 - First start attempt 37:00 - 24 Volts 40:27 - Getting closer 41:56 - First start 42:41 - Running it to RPM, freeing up the piston rings. 45:24- Troubleshooting rough running 47:22 - Will it start on 12 volts? 47:52 - Replacing the rusted out headers 55:30 - Fabricating an exhaust system. 1:00:57 - How's it sound now? Great. 1:01:49 - Oil change and coolant flush 1:09:31 - Getting parts from the junkyard 1:11:22 - Installing the driveshaft 1:12:50 - Testing the 4 speed. 1:14:37 - Brakes 1:37:58 - Greasing/fluid check 1:39:30 - Tires 1:40:55 - Shifter handle fabrication, seat install 1:44:06 - Getting ready for the road. 1:47:47 - First Drive 1:54:20 - Cat
