Ignaz Moscheles (1794-1870) was a Czech/German composer. He wrote 8 piano concertos, and several shorter concertante works like this one. Most of them have been recorded, but to my knowledge this one has been overlooked. The full score is freely available on IMSLP, link below. Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignaz_M... IMSLP: https://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Mosch... Movements: 0:00 - 1. Allegro con spirito - Andante con moto 1:33 - 2. Allegretto/Larghetto Grazioso [Elverhöj, "Baegeret Blinker"] 3:10 - 3. Andantino Espressivo ["Jeg Gik Mig I Lunden" ("I Walked Into the Grove")] 5:49 - 4. Allegro Maestoso e Moderato ["Kong Christian Stodved Hojen Mast" ("King Christian Stood By The High Mast")] 8:20 - 5. Andante con moto quasi Allegretto [Romance "Dybt I Havet" ("Deep in the Sea")] 10:49 - 6. Allegretto, Tempo rubato, quasi Fantasia 11:19 - 7. Allegro Vivace [Elverhöj, Choeur "Hurtig Til Lystig Fest" ("Quickly to a Merry Party")] 12:28 - 8. Cantabile - [Romance "Nu Lovsalen Skygger" ("Now the Leafy Hall Shades") - Elverhöj "Jaegerchor" (Help from anyone who can translate Danish would be appreciated - I've done what I can with Google Translate, but there's a few words up there that it didn't get.) I previously posted this piece as a series of Shorts, because I wanted to try out the format, and it is one of few pieces that neatly divides into segments of appropriate length. (Movements 6 and 7 were combined in the shorts because 6 is so short on its own.) So if you already listened to those, this is just the same thing as one video. Am I double-dipping by posting this one twice? Maybe, but my free time was limited this week. At the time this goes live, I will be in mid-air on the way back from visiting family. Disclaimer: Yes, it's synthesized. Obviously real musicians with real instruments would be vastly superior, but this simulated performance is better than nothing at all, which is what existed previously. My greatest wish is that these videos will inspire someone with the means to arrange a real performance and hopefully record and publish it so we can hear them in their full glory. If that someone is you, or you know of an existing recording of this, please let me know and I may add a link to this description.
