I love the Green Lantern character, whether it be Hal Jordan, John Stewart, or the others who have taken on the mantle. The mythology of that world is so rich that it essentially fills an entire universe of its own, that we’ve barely even scratched the surface of in adaptations. But as hopeful as I am for this series and the creative team behind it, I also have a lot of concerns. This series is the first time that the Green Lantern mythos is being adapted to live action in nearly 15 years. The character has basically become a bit of a laughing stock thanks entirely to the 2011 movie, and so there’s a lot riding on this show to do him and his mythos justice. And so this is what the DCU’s Green Lantern has to get right.
