I took a trip to the GTA (yes, it's really called that... Greater Toronto Area) and visited two stores, Medieval Depot and Fire and Steel. The purpose was to look at and talk about various swords and other weapons from movies, anime, and video games. It's always better to analyze (i.e. over-think) a design when you can actually hold it in hand to figure out what practical challenges there might be. Before you get too excited... no cutting or other tests here. These are made as lower priced wallhangers with stainless steel blades. They work as props to get a feel for the design, but they are not intended for practical use.
