The concept for Overgrown Necrons is that the Necrons have fallen into a slumber and as a result have been grown-over by nature which has reclaimed the land. Aeons later the Necrons have awoken and reanimated. This is my step-by-step guide on how to paint a Necron Monolith in the Overgrown theme. I used Orange glow/glowing effects to contrast with the green vegetation. I used an airbrush for speed but this technique could easily be used without an airbrush too using dry brushing! Dried Tea Twigs Flock Grass Tufts Many of these can be bought from; Geek Gaming - https://www.geekgaming.co.uk Gamers Grass - https://www.gamersgrass.com/ You can get lots of basing materials free in Nature so if you are on a budget don't be scared to go out scavenging in the Woods or on the Beach. If you do this just wait until the scavenged parts are dry. After applying all the vegetation you could give it a fine spray with hairspray or matte varnish to keep everything in place.
