I ultimately decided to go with Medela after reading tons of raving reviews. When we were in the NICU with my first they gave us two big bags of Medela pumping supplies to go with my pump. They also freely supplied Medela pumps to use during our stay. I even received more Medela supplies when I had my second at another hospital. Since most hospitals provide Medela pumps it made sense (for me) to go with Medela as well. This isn’t to say that Medela is the ONLY brand you should consider, this is just the brand that I chose to go with and have been happy with so far. --Postpartum Recovery Belt-- I had two different types of these and a lot of my friends swore by them. These are wide adjustable belts with Velcro that are there to provide support while holding everything together after giving birth. You’re supposed to wear them for several hours a day and for a few weeks. I honestly wasn’t too great at being consistent with these. I found them a bit uncomfortable. --Postpartum Cloth Pads-- I used the hospital pads after my first kid before I knew cloth pads excited but I did all cloth with my second and third baby. They were 10 times more comfortable and I just loved them! --Perineal Healing Spray-- I made my own healing spray after doing a lot of research and it’s a miracle worker down there. It’s made with aloe gel, witch hazel and a few skin healing/soothing essential oils. You spray it right on your postpartum pad after going to the restroom or changing your pad. I know this spray helped to speed up my recovery. It’s great for sores, hemorrhoids, chapped skin, rashes, etc. And the best part is, I use it as a cleansing diaper spray after I’m done with the postpartum period.
