The first week is foundational, it's where you set the tone for your class, establish your class culture, get your students excited for what is to come the rest of the school year. It’s where you learn their names, establish your class procedures, where you let your students know that you care about them, you believe in their creativity, and that there is reason for them to be eager to show up the rest of the school year. That's what this resource is all about. I've compiled the best first week activities I've ever done, as well as others used by master teachers to use in the first week. Each day has a couple activities that are interactive for your students, tap into social emotional learning, and are really about setting you up for Success the rest of the year. Feel free to adapt what I have in this resource to fit your classroom, grade level, and subject area. Of course there are things you will need to cover that are specific to your class in the first week, so the plans that I have here can supplement that. I hope these lesson plans and activities will help you set a firm foundation for your class, and honestly, to give you and your students the best first week ever.
