TVCs (Time-Variant Controllers) like LFOs (Low-Frequency Oscillators) and envelope generators allow your synthesizer to create dynamic sounds that change over the duration of the note. This video focuses on LFOs, going over their properties and applications, including vibrato, tremolo, and auto-wah. I do some quick demos in Native Instruments' Massive, but these concepts are applicable in all synthesis environments, both analog and digital. TVCs are one of the five types of synthesis modules. Instead of generating an audio signal, these TVCs generate a control signal, which can then be applied to other modules. They can control frequency, amplitude, filter cutoffs, whatever we want. So it's useful to understand these modules and how they can help us create more detailed sound design.
