[ENG SUB]호주 브리즈번 임신 출산 - 유도 분만 & 출산 & 퇴원Induction of Labour at Mater Mother's Hospital in Australia

Hi! this is Kimchi's mom again! :) Thank you for watching DanSolStory! Our daughter was born in good health at 3:30am on 8th of March 2020 in Mater Mother's Hospital. Lots of things happened and 3 weeks has passed already since she was born. In my previous video, I talked about my hospital appointment with midwife and obstetrician on my 41 weeks'pregnancy. Today I would like to share my experience with induction of labour, giving birth and discharging from hospital in Mater Mother's Hospital. On the following day after I saw the midwife and obstetrician at the hospital, I received a TXT message & a call from the hospital, informing that my induction has been scheduled on the 7th of March. I checked in hospital on Saturday the 7th of March with my husband at 10:30am. After check-in, the hospital staff took us to a nice private room on level 9 for the induction phase. There were a bed for me, sofa for a partner, TV and a private bath & toilet in the room. the first thing we did was monitoring baby's heart beat & my contraction progress. Basically I just lied down on the bed and did nothing. I watched TV, listened to music and had some snacks we prepared from home. Monitoring took a while since they found a unpredictable sign on the baby's heart beat. But it was confirmed that there is no risk to go on to the next step. Around 5pm, the balloon catheter was inserted by a midwife. The two balloons (positioned either side of my cervix) was inflated with a small quantity of water (I think 80ml). I was informed that the balloon catheter will be removed by doctor or midwife before I have my waters broken the following morning (around 12hrs later). The level of discomfort differs from woman to woman but I felt minor pressure and discomfort after insertion of the balloon catheter. I walked around hospital as I was advised by midwife and had dinner which I ordered at hospital. The food was complementary and food service at the hospital was excellent. My pain was getting quite intense, so I asked the hospital staff if they could provide me Swiss ball to reduce and relieve my pain. It was provided shortly and I found that some positions were quite helpful. After 5hrs, the level of pain became unbearable so I asked midwife some help to relieve the pain. I had pill which made me drowsy so I could sleep a bit and water in the balloon was reduced a bit (around 10ml removed) to relieve the pressure and pain. Thankfully, I could sleep around 1 hour after that. I woke up with strong pain and it was around midnight,i.e 7hrs passed after the insertion of the balloon catheter. I had a strong level of pain like a contraction almost every minute so called midwife urgently. When she arrived, balloon catheter naturally came out from my body and she did vaginal examination to check cervical dilation progress. She said cervix was dilated around 6-7cm so I can move to birth room now. I moved to birth room which was on the level 5 and a midwife came to with the birthing process. At that point, I was focused on deep breathing and contractions. I believe 1-2 hrs had passed after I moved to birth room. At some point I told midwife I cannot hold anymore and I needed to push baby and it started soon under midwife's guide. According to the form I received from hospital, midwife broke the water around 2am and baby was born at 3.30am As soon as baby was born, the midwife put her on my chest. I did breast feeding with midwife's help. While I was talking, touching and watching her, the placenta was removed and vaginal tear was stitched. This process took around 1.5hours. I am specially thankful to hospital for allowing mothers to have special interaction time with baby straight after giving birth. Baby was checked quickly and we were moved to level 8 for recovery. I did breastfeeding whenever baby showed hungry sign and my first day with baby passed so quickly by doing feeding, changing nappies and comforting baby. I was happy to be discharged from hospital on the following day as the hospital advised. Discharge check up list was completed for myself and baby and it took around 2 hrs. Everything was completed and we received several document and a 'Red book' to monitor baby's health. I left hospital around 12pm on 9th of March happily.
