The first illustrated music box I ever made was a Studio Ghibli medley. I have always loved the worlds of Ghibli and the music, which sounds especially nostalgic on a music box. I made that first medley many years ago and have always wanted to make a new and improved version. This time I took all of the Studio Ghibli movies directed by HAYAO MIYAZAKI and with music created by JOE HISAISHI, in chronological order. THE TIMELINE: 1984 Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind - The Bird Man: 0:00-0:11 1986 Castle in the Sky - Innocent (Carrying You): 0:12-0:30 1988 My Neighbor Totoro - Path of the Wind: 0:31-0:52 1989 Kiki's Delivery Service - A Town with an Ocean View: 0:53-1:09 1992 Porco Rosso - The Bygone Days: 1:10-1:28 1997 Princess Mononoke - The Legend of Ashitaka: 1:29-1:40 2001 Spirited Away - Reprise: 1:41-2:15 2004 Howl's Moving Castle - Merry Go Round of Life: 2:16-2:53 2008 Ponyo - Ponyo on the Cliff: 2:54-3:12 2013 The Wind Rises - A Journey (A Dream of Flight): 3:13-3:46 *While Nausicaa was created before Studio Ghibli was technically established, it is often considered the first Ghibli film. *Also note, these years reflect the initial release date in Japan.
