National Higher Education Day Summit 2024 05/15/2024

PICC, Pasay City May 15, 2024 Aiming to achieve ‘Access, Quality and Competitiveness at the Core of Higher Education Reforms’, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graces the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) National Higher Education Day Summit at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on May 15, 2024. The NHED Summit, organized in partnership with the CHED-Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) and Philippine Normal University (PNU), is part of the CHED’s celebration of its 4th National Higher Education Day and the 30th anniversary of its establishment under Republic Act (RA) No. 11522 on May 18, 1994. It offers an opportunity for leaders of higher education institutions to strengthen and forge further partnerships to collectively address issues and other concerns in the country’s education system. Upon arrival, President Marcos Jr. and CHED Chairman J. Prospero ‘Popoy’ De Vera III walk through the displayed three (3) winning paintings of the 3rd NHED’s on-the-spot painting competition dubbed, ‘PINTAgumpay: A Celebration of the Success of Philippine Higher Education’. The highlight of the Summit is CHED Chairman De Vera’s delivery of ‘ULAT: The State of Higher Education in the Philippines’, where he provides an in-depth elaboration on the current state of the country’s higher education.
