Thanks for tuning in to the ASA Suppressor Policy Update for July, 2022. Here’s the scoop: On July 12th, Steve Dettlebach became the first Senate Confirmed Director at ATF since B. Todd famously resigned in March, 2015 after attempting to reclassify M855 ammunition as armor piercing. Earlier this month, it was announced that Amy Stely replaced Steve Rosenthal as the NFA Division Chief. For reference, she has worked in the NFA Division for years and is in large part responsible for the launch of the new eForms system in December, which has significantly decreased wait times for suppressors. Last, but certainly not least, there have unfortunately been no updates from ATF regarding the eForm 1 denials. We wish that we had better news, but know that ASA is actively working to get to the bottom of this.
