It’s official: The #ElectricCar market has crashed through the floor. Just look at the Porsche Taycan—originally selling for £110k, now being listed for as low as £45k in just a few short years. And that's retail price, with over 700 used Taycans on the market! The higher you go up in the model line-up, the worse it gets for your pocket. So what happened? Buyers are getting smarter, realising that the future value of EVs just doesn’t hold. And it’s not just any EV taking a hit—the Taycan was the cream of the crop, with strong demand and solid residuals. But even that wasn’t enough to escape the decline. Now, let's talk about #MercedesBenz EQ series. I’ve been pretty open about my dislike for this line-up; I've never been a fan of the way they're designed, both inside and out. It always felt like a total abandonment of their values in favour of a half-hearted attempt to mimic Tesla, but with a much higher price tag. However, the Mercedes EQE might yet be redeemable—despite my criticisms, it’s proven itself as a range champion during the 6000 miles and 3 months I’ve lived with it, and the prices and deals are now making it attractive.
