Which Came First - the Chicken or the Egg?

An answer to the age old question... First of all, the question needs to be clarified. Eggs have been around for millions of years before chickens, so in this sense, the egg defiantly came first. However, with this conundrum, most people mean it as which came first out of a chicken or a chicken egg. You can approach this question by defining what a chicken egg is. Is it an egg from a chicken, and egg containing a chicken, or both? Well most people will agree that a chicken egg is an egg laid by a chicken, regardless of the genetic identity of the embryo inside. If a chicken laid an egg, you would call it a chicken egg without any question, and even if it somehow contained a pigeon, you would still say that a pigeon came out of a chicken egg. So with this logic, the chicken came first, but this is entirely down to how to define a chicken egg. Fortunately, research into the genetics and proteins of chickens have helped to find an answer to this problem. A chicken egg shell contains a protein called OC-17, which can only be made in a chickens ovaries. This protein is fundamental in the formation of the shell of a chicken egg, and without it, an egg cannot form. This means that in order for a true chicken egg to be formed, it must be laid by a true chicken, and so a chicken must have come first. So, in simplistic terms, this means, that some pseudo-chicken creature, gave birth to a pseudo-chicken egg, the embryo of which had been genetically mutated into a chicken. The chicken hatched from a pseudo-chicken egg, and went on to lay chicken eggs. Read the full article here: http://randomlyresearched.com/what-ca...
