Liver, bile ducts, bone, intestine, and placenta each contain a different ALP isoenzyme. These isoenzymes are used to diagnose and monitor bone disease, liver disease, gallbladder and bile duct diseases as well as determining bone turnover in postmenopausal women. What would cause increased levels? Cirrhosis Hepatitis Paget’s Disease Cancer that has spread to the bone Bone cancer Hodgkin’s Congestive Heart Disease (CHF) What would cause decreased levels?
