📍Pattaya, Thailand 🇹🇭 It was a beautiful morning in Bangkok. We hopped on a local bus headed to the big terminal, chasing a ride to Pattaya. Stopped for coffee at the first café we saw. Bad move. By the time we realised it was £7 for two basic coffees, they were already made. No time to argue. Tasted amazing, to be fair. Tried to grab seats on the big 36-seater to Pattaya. Sold out right as we reached the front. No big deal, there’s a minibus for 50p more. We queue up again. Sold out again. We thought we’d be waiting an hour, but the next one was only ten minutes later. Just enough time for a toilet stop and to fend off a Chinese guy who tried to cut the queue. I shouted at him in Chinese. Not sure if he backed off because I was firm or because he was shocked a white guy was speaking Dongbei dialect. We were rushed onto the minibus. No outside drinks allowed. Had to slam the rest of that £7 coffee in two gulps. Fuming. The ride? Tight. Toyota Hiace with barely a breath of legroom. Two hours in, we stopped in the countryside to stretch our legs. The sky cracked open with thunder and lightning, and we scrambled back inside. Eventually, we arrived in Pattaya. Forty-minute walk to the apartment, bags in hand, streets buzzing. We stopped halfway at a proper working-class restaurant, plastic tables under an awning, living room in the back. I asked for Pad See Ew. Not on the menu, but the woman knew what I meant. She made it. It was unreal. Finally made it to our £20-a-night apartment. We expected the worst. Instead, we got a full flat — living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen-diner with a balcony. On the 33rd floor. Rooftop pool. Proper gym. Sin City or not, Pattaya was off to a great start. 👨🏻💻 Give us a follow on your favorite social media: / jackaynsleytravel / jackaynsleytravel & / paigeaynsleytravel / jackaynsleytravel & / paigeaynsleytravel 👋🏼 Support us!
