Thank you for taking time out of your busy lives to help bring this song to life. ________________________________________________ About this song: I’ve often thought about the line in the sacrament prayer where we promise to “always remember” Jesus Christ. What did I want my children to keep in the warmest, safest places in their hearts? As I pondered the answer to that question, the ideas for the chorus came quickly. He loves each of us individually. He came to earth, died, and was resurrected for everyone in the world, whether they accept his sacrifice or not. He promises to send his spirit and bring peace in times of turmoil or uncertainty. And then the realization hit me: He will always remember me. Just as we promise to “always remember Him,” Jesus assures us that he will never forget us. In Isaiah 49:1-16, Jesus tells us, "I will not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands." Can you guess what kind of flowers Jesus hands to my sweet Janey during the first chorus of this video? I bet you guessed it: Forget-Me-Nots. Whenever someone asks me which song is my favorite, I always tell them it is whatever project I am working on. This one, however, might stay in that coveted slot for a while. I hope you and the young people in your life love it as much as I do.
