The Audio-Technica ATH M40X headphones are a popular choice for inexpensive studio headphones. The M40X's sits at an accessible price point and have received many recommendations. But how can you review headphones with as minimal bias as possible? After all, you can't try out the M40X's through a video. In this video, I test the Audio-Technica M40X headphones with a reference microphone and audio spectrum analyzer. I share audio and visual comparisons of the M40X's against original recordings using a tone generator, music, and spoken word. I also review build quality and features for the M40X studio headphones. The M40X's are tuned to a flat frequency response curve according to Audio-Technica. While it is impossible for headphones to achieve a completely flat response, how do the M40X headphone measure up for producing sound with as little coloration as possible? This video is my review of the Audio-Technica M40X studio headphones with as little bias as possible.
