Summer Bummer! You’ll Experience Over 100 ‘Summer Fails’ During the Warmer Months

Summer is all about being outside. But that’s a problem if you don’t put on enough sunscreen or take a nap after too many cocktails. Those issues fall into the category of summer fails! Take it from a new survey of 2,000 Americans conducted by OnePoll on behalf of premium eyewear company Maui Jim. Results show the most common summer fails include watching too much TV, the fashion fail of not wearing a hat in the sun, and not getting enough shut-eye. In just one month, the average American will experience 104 summer fails. People are getting burned by these summer health mishaps. One in 5 Americans rarely or never wear sunscreen. But it’s a generational thing. The Maui Jim survey found those aged 25-44 were the most likely to sport some sunscreen, while those 55 and older were the least likely to lather up. Aside from that, 42% of Americans don’t wear sunglasses because they don’t want tan lines from their shades. On the flip side, 72% buy cheap sunglasses which some health experts say can be more damaging to your eye health than not wearing sunglasses at all. Talk about a summer bummer!
