Day 23 - Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) Training : Oracle Integration to Create Purchase Orders

🚀 Master Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) Like a Pro! 🚀 Looking to learn Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) from scratch or enhance your integration skills? You're in the right place! Today’s session focused To design an OIC integration that automates the creation of purchase orders in Oracle Fusion using SOAP web services, processes records from a source file, archives the file, and generates logs for tracking and email notifications. Requirements: 1. Retrieve the source file from the FTP server. 2. Process each record from the file to create a purchase order in Oracle Fusion using SOAP web services. 3. Archive the processed source file to a designated directory. 4. Generate a log file recording the status of each record (Success/Error) and the associated purchase order number for successful records. 5. Place the log file in a specific log directory on the file server. 6. Send the log file to users via email. Integration Flow: 1. Retrieve Source File: Use the OIC FTP Adapter to fetch the source file from the FTP server. 2. Read and Process Records: Read the file in OIC and iterate over each record using a For-Each loop. 3. Invoke SOAP Connection: Call the SOAP web service connection to create a purchase order for each record. Pass the data from the source file and use OIC Lookups if necessary for dynamic data mapping. 4. Log File Generation: After processing each record: Append the status (Success/Error) to a stage file for the log file. If successful, include the created purchase order number in the log. 5. Archive Source File: Upon completing the processing, move the source file from the source directory to the archive directory on the FTP server. 6. Send Log File: Save the generated log file in the log directory on the FTP server. Use the OIC Email Notification action to send the log file to the intended recipients. Outcome: The integration ensures seamless automation of purchase order creation with robust error handling, file management, and real-time status tracking. The generated log file provides complete transparency into the integration process and communicates results to the concerned users effectively. Stay tuned for the next session, where we’ll explore more advanced integrations!
