Iran Warns Against ‘Miscalculation’ As US ‘Boosts Jet Refuelling Tankers’ At Diego Garcia | Israel

At least four additional US military aerial refuelling tanker aircraft, KC-135s, arrived at the Diego Garcia air base near Iran on May 27, as per data shared online. In a post on X, TheIntelFrog, which describes itself as an open-source intelligence enthusiast, said five to six of the refuelling tankers were already at the base. This takes the total number of KC-135s, also known as “Vomit Comet”, to somewhere between nine to 10, if the report is believed. In addition to the tankers, the Diego Garcia air base is currently hosting six US F-15 fighter jets and four B-52 strategic bombers, TheIntelFrog said. This comes as Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and US president Donald Trump reportedly had a heated phone call over how to confront Iran amid ongoing negotiations over Tehran's nuclear programme.
