Today we're going to be taking a look at the Brophy Aluminum Scissor Steps. These are going to be manufactured from heavy gauge aluminum for maximum strength and durability. The weight capacity on these steps is going to be two-hundred-and-fifty pounds. You can see that it's a three-step design, a nice lightweight design. On each step, we're going to have a nice diamond-tread surface; that's going to provide some additional grip. It's going to increase safety. It's also going to assist in preventing falling. Overall, aluminum is going to be highly resistant towards rust and corrosion. Extremely lightweight, so that way you can easily move the steps around as needed. The unit does also have the ability to fold for nice compact storage, when they're not being used. The vertical height is going to measure between twenty-four inches and thirty inches. What that means is that if the area where you need some stairs is going to be between those measurements, then this setup is going to work great for your application. The stairs are going to self adjust; they got the nice scissor design, so they're going to self adjust to the terrain that they're sitting on; and gain, they are going to fold flat for easy storage. Not completely flat, but they're going to have a retracted size of about seven inches; so that would be the overall height, seven inch retracted height so we can easily store them in a compartment when they're not being used. The unit is very easy to install and to use; installation instructions are included. It's going to come fully assembled, so it's ready to be installed right out of the box. It does come with your mounting hardware. I want to show you that, real quick: That's going to be the four lag screws right here, and it's going to come with your mounting bracket. Your mounting bracket is going to have these V-channels on it; that's these right here. That's going to go around the upper arm. Your bracket, or the mount, is going to mount an eighth of an inch below the lowest point of your door. You would attach that with the included hardware. When you're ready to install the step, place that upper arm into those V-channels there and that's going to hold it in place. When you're ready to detach it, simply just kind of move that arm to where it's able to release from the bracket. The bracket is going to measure about eighteen and one-quarter of an inch long. The lip is going to be one inch here at the base, and on top; so one inch by one inch. You can see that it has four mount-holes, center on center. The outer holes are going to be separated by fifteen-and-three-quarters of an inch; and then the distance between each hole is going to be five and one-quarter of an inch. Again, your mounting hardware is included. The product is going to be made right here in the USA. There's also an optional handrail that's available, to add extra stability and safety to the unit. That's sold separately with part number AHR3. If you're going to be mounting this, or attaching it to a pickup tailgate, it is going to require a separate mounting bracket. You can find that here at Etrailer.com. The part number TSSB, that's going to be sold separately as well. Again, this is a three-step design. If we take a look at the actual step size . I'm just going to go overall, so outer edge to outer edge. We're looking at a measurement of about eighteen inches. If we just measure the step, we're looking at about seventeen and a quarter to seventeen and a half. If we take a look at the step depth, that's going to give us a measurement of six and a quarter. The distance that we have, from the top of one step to the is going to be about seven and a half inches. Please keep in mind that the step is only to be used while the vehicle is stationary, so you want to be careful not to permanently mount the step. Please use the mounting bracket so that the step can easily be removed, prior to vehicle travel. When this is going to be folded, it has the ability to fold to a nice, compact size, the retracted or folded height is going to be seven inches, so it really does allow for nice, compact, convenient storage. I'm going to go ahead and show you how to fold it up, real quick. The easiest way, I've found, is to go ahead and remove that upper arm from the bracket. Again, very lightweight, so you can tilt this up, and then just let it collapse on its own. It just requires a little bit of force, so just push it. It's going to collapse, and then it's got the keeper here at the back, that way it stays in the folded position. That's goi
