This heavy-duty equipment, pivotal for the sampling process, will also need to be transported to and from the research site. The chosen mode of transportation is a Landing Craft Mechanized (LCM3 Normandy 1944). This historical vessel, reminiscent of its World War II origins, carries a sense of resilience and history as it embarks on this modern-day scientific voyage. With both the pickup truck and the excavator embarked upon the LCM3, the journey upstream commences. The river's shallowness adds an extra layer of complexity to our expedition.
