BOSS 2023 - The Nor'easters

For our two-part set that earned us 1st place at BOSS 2023, we were given the unique theme of a man-made structure that inspired us, as well as the challenge to take a look at the deeper meaning of that structure. Influenced by our recent trip to San Francisco, we chose the Golden Gate Bridge. We wanted to explore the dichotomous nature of the bridge, as it was originally a symbol of patriotism and financial prosperity in its early years, yet eventually gained a dark notoriety for being the top location in the United States for deaths by suicide. Our set represents how looks can be deceiving, as our seemingly rich society is broken with a devastating mental health epidemic. Credits: She (opb.
