We Built a Backyard Studio Office!

Join us on this DIY episode as we build a studio office in our backyard! I've been blessed to have worked from home for the past 15 years and being on conference calls with 5 kids in the house is not always fun. :) We decided to build an office for me in our backyard. I had a couple of estimates and they were so expensive we decided to tackle the job ourselves. We found a good plan we liked on https://shedplans.org and although the free one was good, decided to spend $20 or so on the detailed plan. It wasn't as easy as the website indicated, but I had some experience as a kid with similar activities and I figured with YouTube, friends, etc. I could figure it out. I didn't track my total man hours, but it took us way longer than expected close to 3 months I think doing a little bit here and there after work and on the weekends between sports, vacations, etc. until it was fully finished down to the last detail inside. I did hire an electrician because my bride didn't want me to risk burning it down. 😆 Everything else we did together as a family. I don't know exactly what we spent on lumber and material, but we built it at the price peak in 2021 when lumber prices were through the roof. In total, I think we still spent less than $5k for this 10x12 office with air conditioning.
