This is the bass tab for my cover of Playboys of the Southwestern World by Blake Shelton. It is a note for note transcription of the original. It is dedicated to Blake Shelton. With a special shout out to John Woodard who requested this song. Now I know a lot of you have requested songs that I have not recorded, and there are many different reasons why. A lot of the times the request will require a huge drum kit (mine is only a standard digital Roland) I can sometimes get drummers to record me a track, but not always. There are times when the original recording is too hard to hear, and I feel like I could never get a good transcription. I listen to a lot of old music, so that is mostly what I record and transcribe. I have nothing against modern music, I just don’t listen to much of it. So, if it was recorded more than thirty years ago, I might record it, depending on if I’ve heard it. If I’m not familiar with a song, I don’t like transcribing it, because I figure it’s not in my head yet and I’ll miss something. I also do plan on recording some of your requests, but in the future, considering some of them are very time consuming. Now, if you are really desperate to learn something, send me a message, and I’ll do my best to help. I'm playing all the instruments and singing on this track. I started by separating the original track into drums/bass/guitar/vocal. I then painstakingly transcribed all the parts note for note, and replayed them. I then went into the recording booth and sang the song. Playboys of the Southwestern World was written by Neil Coty and Randy VanWarmer. It was recorded by Blake Shelton. It was the third single from his album: The Dreamer. The Equipment used in this recording is as follows: Slate ML1 Microphone The software is Cubase Pro. The audio interface is a Volt 476P. The Bass sound was created with a Sire P10, straight into the Axe. The Guitar is a Fender Telecaster plugged straight into the Axe. Amplitube 5 was used for amp emulation. All vocals were recorded with the Slate ML1 Ozone 11 was used for mastering. The video, and the recording, were produced by Abraham Myers.
