LIVE: Thousands of Tibetan antelopes have started their annual migration home in China’s Qinghai province. Every year, herds of Tibetan antelopes will migrate to a location with adequate mating conditions and then return to their original habitat with their newborn calves. The species, mostly found in Tibet Autonomous Region, Qinghai Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is under first-class state protection in China. Now, their status in China has been downgraded from "endangered" to "near threatened" amid the country's active anti-poaching and biodiversity protection efforts.
