[Anchor Lead] Have you heard of drone soccer? It's a new sport incorporating flying drones, and after drone racing, soccer is the latest in drone sports. [Pkg] At the starting signal, drones all fly into the air. Drones clash as one side dashes toward the other's goalpost against blocking maneuvers. Whenever a drone passes through the other team's goalpost, a score is gained. This is a drone soccer match. [Soundbite] Kim Soo-hyeon (Spectator) : "It's fascinating to see drones playing soccer. I liked the feeling of dynamic collisions." The 3 minute 3 set game takes place inside a 20 by 10 meter arena that's 5 meters tall. Even though the drone is damaged through collision and falls, they can't be repaired during the match. Five drones make up a team. Therefore teamwork is as important as individual skill. [Soundbite] Kim Min-chan (Drone Soccer Player) : "There are 2 strikers. One striker assists and I make the shoot while the defense does its job." Not only has the sport of drone soccer been developed in Korea, but the drone itself, which is covered in a carbon-based safety net, was created in Korea. [Soundbite] Kim Seung-soo (Mayor of Jeonju) : "The strength and flexibility matters for a drone ball. This also relates to the carbon industry. High sales of drone soccer balls help to advance related sectors." Drone soccer held its first official tournament. It's to be seen whether the newborn sport can rise to the status of drone racing, which is dubbed the "F1 in the sky" and for which professional teams already exist.
