Are you wondering how to handle returns as an eBay seller? Returns on eBay can be frustrating and difficult! Especially if you aren’t familiar with the returns process. How you respond to a return determines the outcome of every return case (for better or for worse). In this video, I’ll go over all of the rules and limitations that you must follow when handling returns. I’ll also give you some great tips that will save you time and money when you’re dealing with a return case! How to start resolving a return request Open your Returns dashboard in your eBay Seller Hub, and select View return details from beside the item. Here, you'll be able to see the buyer's reason for requesting the return You’ll also see the date you need to respond by, and any additional comments or photos provided by the buyer. How to accept a return To accept a return: 1. Go to your Returns dashboard 2. Select View return details beside the item. 3. Select Accept the return and then Continue. 4. If you're responsible for the return shipping, you’ll then choose how you’ll arrange for the item to be returned. 5. If the buyer is responsible for paying for the return, you’ll want to choose your return address from the dropdown menu. 6. Enter a return merchandise authorization number (if you use them). 7. Select Confirm. Refunding the buyer Once you receive the returned item, you'll need to issue a refund within 2 business days. To do this, go to the case in your Returns Dashboard and choose Refund buyer. If you don't refund the buyer within 2 business, eBay will automatically issue a refund to them on your behalf. When the return is closed, eBay will automatically resist your item for you. If you don't want your item to be relisted, simply uncheck the Relist item box when issuing the refund. Important Notes When you approve a return as an eBay seller, your customer has 15 business days to return your item. If they don’t return the item, eBay will close the return and you’ll get your money back. If an item is returned used or damaged it may be appropriate to issue a partial refund to the buyer.
