Smallest amount, just to dissolve them. Base layer paint (Homebase Pure Brilliant White Silk) Mixed pigments and tube paints with 3 parts vivid enamel 1 part triple thick polyurethane varnish by rust-oleum If I needed to thin out the tube paints after the enamel mix was mixed in, I added a small amount of the varnish until they matched the pigments consistency.
