Track your pregnancy with our app: https://wte.onelink.me/85iI/29dt1g98 Your pregnancy is officially considered full-term this week. Your baby can safely arrive any day now, although you may still have a few weeks to go before delivery. Learn more about week 39 of pregnancy: https://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnanc... Transcript: It's week 39, which means you've hit a truly momentous milestone: Your pregnancy is officially considered full-term. Your baby can safely arrive any day now, though that day may not come soon enough for you, your aching body and your arms aching to hold that bundle for the very first time. Your little one may not be in a hurry to leave the cozy, warm confines of your womb, but the reality is space is getting tighter by the day for your fully grown baby, who weighs in at 7 to 8 pounds, maybe even heavier, and measures up to 19 to 21 inches, or about the length of a jackfruit. One thing still growing up a storm at the moment is your little one's brain, which will continue to develop at a phenomenal speed for the first three years of that smarty pants’ life. Also in development this week are the tear ducts, though they won't actually produce any tears until several weeks after birth. So while your newborn will definitely be able to communicate by crying (trust me on that!), the waterworks won't start rolling down those sweet cheeks for a while. And speaking of cheeks, your baby's are even chubbier than they were just weeks ago. The skin now has a protective fat layer covering the blood vessels across the body. And the once-translucent pink complexion is now whitish or whitish-grayish, no matter what skin your baby will ultimately be in. On top of that sweet little noggin, your baby might be sporting a full head of hair or maybe a cue ball, or somewhere in between, but it doesn't matter much. From head to toe, this baby finally resembles the little person you'll soon be snuggling.
