Discovering Hidden Treasures of Kashmir || Achabal Garden || Verinag Spring || Kashmir || EP_02

This is Episode_02 of my Kashmir Tour. In this Episode we have covered some less travelled tourist destinations of Kashmir Valley. Out of these two are Mughal Gardens outside Srinagar, one Botanical Garden and One Ancient Temple Ruins of about 1200 years. Hardly any tourists were seen in these places. In fact we met few locals and interacted with them which is entirely a different experience in Kashmir trip. Due to shortage of time we dropped the plan to reach Sinthan Top via Daksum. Situated around 58 km from the capital city of Srinagar, Achabal Bagh or garden is a real delight both for nature lovers and admirers of Mughal architecture. The garden is built on a hill, which has an altitude of 1677 m. The Achabal Bagh can be described as a riot of colors, the plantations of which are kept as per Persian style of gardening. In order to give it a royal feel, the garden was kept surrounded by tall Chinar trees. Today also, they stand straight with their lush green stature, maintaining the regality of the garden. Kokernag town in the Breng Valley of Anantnag District has many mythological stories attached to it. Kokernag is basically a collection of many small springs that collectively emerges into the largest fresh water spring of Kashmir. Kokernag Waterfalls is perched at an altitude of 2012 metres at a distance of around 80km from Srinagar. The area around the waterfalls is blessed with lush greenery and countless colourful scented flowers that add to its vibrancy, freshness and an overall pleasant ambience. The spring gets bifurcated into multiple channels as it descends from the top of a hill to form a majestic waterfalls. A very beautiful and incredible garden, Kokernag Botanical Garden is a must visit attraction of the place. It is blessed with rich flora and fauna and is full of a lot of varieties of beautiful Alpine, Rose, Tropical plants and around 1000 ornamental plants and trees. This garden is very well-known not only in Kokernag but in entire Jammu Kashmir state as well. Verinag is a fascinating Mughal garden that is situated at the foothills of the Banihal mountain ranges in the south of Srinagar. It was built by Mirza Haider, who was an able engineer of the Mughal court of Jahangir. On the orders of Emperor Jahangir, Mirza Haider started the construction in the year 1619. The garden is built around a spring, which is a part of Jhelum River, and is given an octagonal shape. What attracts in the design of Verinag, is the symmetry it obtains with the blend of its natural surroundings and geometrical shape. The beauty of Verinag is so tempting that the garden remained the personal favorite of Emperor Jahangir. Such was his attachment that he expressed the desire to be buried here, post his death. The Martand Sun Temple is a Hindu Temple located near the city of Anantnag in the Kashmir Valley of Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), India. It dates back to the eighth century CE and was dedicated to Surya, the chief solar deity in Hinduism; Surya is also known by the Sanskrit-language synonym Martand (मार्तण्ड, Mārtaṇḍa). The temple was destroyed by Sikandar Shah Miri. #offbeatkashmir #offbeatdestination #kashmirtour #kashmirvalley #kashmir mughal gardens #achabal #mughalgardenachabal #verinagspring #mughalgardenverinag #kokernagbotanicalgarden #kokernag #martandsuntemple #verinag #martandsuntemple #source of jhelum river #jhelum #sourceofjhelum #historyofkashmir #mughal gardens outside srinagar WATCH OTHER EPISODES:    • Unveiling the Beauty of Pahalgam || A...      • Srinagar Tulip Garden Tour || Tulip F...      • SONMARG || THRILLING SNOW BIKE ADVENT...      • DOODHPATHRI || The Valley of Milk || ...   ► FOLLOW US    / @milesuntrodden   •   / milesuntrodden   If you liked the video Please Do Subscribe My Channel 😉😉😉 Keep Supporting me So I can Continue to provide such content in future!! 😇🙏 For Business Enquiries : [email protected] ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Thanks for Watching! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
