This fosters a collaborative environment where new packages and tools are constantly being developed, contributing to the advancement of statistical computing. R is highly relevant to student success in higher education, particularly for those studying data science, statistics, and related fields. Mastery of R equips students with essential skills for data analysis, visualization, and statistical modeling, which are increasingly in demand in both academia and industry. Furthermore, the open-source nature of R means that students can access and use the software without financial barriers, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities for learning. As educational institutions increasingly adopt open educational resources, R serves as a prime example of how open-source software can support this movement. By promoting the use of R, Ozlem will underscore the importance of open-source tools in democratizing education, reducing costs, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
