A new iPhone feature you might not know about is called Standby. This feature turns your iPhone into a smart display while charging, and can be customized with whichever widget options you’d like. Watch this video to learn how to set up and use Standby on iPhone. #standby #ios17 #iphonestandby To use Standby mode, your device must be updated to iOS 17 or newer. To enable Standby mode, open your settings. Scroll down and select Standby. Tap the switch at the top to turn on Standby. You can then configure the other settings how you’d like, including Night Mode, Notifications, and Preview. To use Standby mode, plug in your iPhone to charge and then prop it up on its side, or place it sideways on a stand. Standby mode will then appear automatically. By default, Standby mode will have smart stacks of widgets on both sides of your screen. You can swipe through the various widgets to see information at a glance. If you like, you can add or remove widgets from each side to customize your Standby screen to your liking. Simply hold down one of the widgets to get options to make changes. You can tap the minus symbol to remove a widget. Tap the plus sign to add a widget. Then choose which widget you’d like to add. If the widget has multiple style options, swipe through to find the style you’d like to use, then tap Add Widget. Continue customizing your Standby screen until you’re happy with it. Tap Done at the top to save your changes. If you’d prefer a different view, you can swipe sideways to view photos with the time in the corner. Swipe up or down to view different categories of photos, including featured, nature, pets, and cities. Swipe sideways again to view a full screen clock. You can swipe up or down to change the clock style. Standby mode is then all set up and ready to use whenever you’re charging your phone. Whichever standby screen you leave on last will be the one that comes up next time Standby is activated.
