How to Bend Resin

You can make really amazing projects by bending epoxy resin before it fully cures. From lampshades, to bowls or trays, you can take advantage of a partially cured sheet of resin and, by watching it as it cures, catch it at the right time to mold or bend into cool shapes. Spread your epoxy onto a releasable surface like a silicone mat or a sheet of plastic, allow it to partially cure, checking it as it cools, and when it cleanly releases from the surface and is still pliable, shape it into your desired form. Use bowls or forms to help shape the bendable resin sheet. We used a graduated bowl set, placing the next largest bowl over the resin to help it form into a nice, even bowl. This is a fun technique that is a great way to make cool, useful objects.
