So is Nvenc still better than x264? Should you consider using x264 to encode your streams once again? After my testing of Nvenc vs x264 I'm not sure the answer is as straight forward as you would think. I have tested it pretty extensively and really did not notice much a performance hit to stream stability or overall FPS in game. I did notice a large difference in CPU usage however which can potentially cause problems. Where Nvenc hovered around 5% CPU usuage x264 hovers around 25%. So that's something to consider since you get the same exactly quality and performance with Nvenc.
