Here's the list of everything you need to swap a 3.0 into a Contour: 2.5 timing cover 2.5 valve covers if you can 2.5 fuel rail if you can 2.5 intake manifolds make things easy (car won't run well without the secondary intake valves unless you get the car tuned) 2.5 motor mount 2.5 PCV recommended 2.5 accessory mounts (alternator, A/C pump bolts, drive shaft carrier) 2.5 Alternator 2.5 powersteering pump 2.5 coolant hoses & manifolds & thermostat housing 2.5 coil pack and plug wires To use 2.5 heads on 3.0 block: Cover rear oil return passage of BOTH heads Plug oil pressure passage on chain-side of rear cylinder bank - leave other pressure passages alone Match your timing sprockets and chains!!! I forgot to mention , at some point the 3.0 crankshaft trigger plate changed with the style I showed to a much thicker trigger plate that seems to have less teeth and it only has 1 keyway for only 3.0s.
