So here is my attempt at 145 Alive, I only managed to work a couple of stations during the period of 145 Alive, one of whom was not actually taking part and goes out and operates portable regularly, it shouldn't just be confined to a specific time every few weeks, I do carry a radio with me when out and about, that being my Yaesu FT2D that is capable of using APRS. The footage I got was a good hour long but has been trimmed down to about 20 minutes due to the amount of what I feel irrelevant waffle and me constantly tuning the GM350 to find activity (or lack of it) as this radio has key beeps turned on which without the programming software cannot be turned off. That said I had not gave up, after the cameras stopped I had a QSO with Simon 2E0NMK in County Durham and another station with an M7 callsign at one of my usual local testing spots in Richmond, before I had to go out to buy groceries, so while not many for 145 Alive I managed to get at least some contacts, the antenna was the same antenna as used previously, only change was location in the house and the radio being used, the Yaesu FTM-400XDE was being used as a back up which in the end was not needed. While I did not have the results I hoped for on the day it was nice to get on the air, not something I've been able to do too much because of home constraints and not being able to go out portable anymore which I did enjoy when I could, one day I'll be able to do that again. The next 145 Alive will also be attempted from home unless I somehow have a car and have got my driving confidence back which I do feel is unlikely but who knows what the future holds #hamradio #144MHz #145Alive #motorola Help support the channel, basic level for only £0.99 or early access for an extra £2.00: / @paulmcgeem0wnu
