Hboot Upgrading

This was created to help people upgrade their HBOOT on the international HTC OneX. I am not responsible for any damage to you phone nor is anyone that provided the files for upgrading your HBOOT. You are taking a risk but I think that risk is way more worth it then not be able to take advantages of the newest custom ROMs. Written instruction are below if you would like to read the instructions before you watch the video. Windows commands do not use a ./ before fastboot. I was using my mac in the video. Windows command: 1. fastboot oem readcid 2. fastboot oem lock 3. fastboot oem rebootRUU 4. fastboot flash zip firmware.zip 5. fastboot oem get_identifier_token 6. fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin 7. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img 8. fastboot erase cache 9. fastboot flash boot boot.img for linux and mac you will put a ./ before fastboot i.e. ./fastboot oem readcid Finding you CID 1. Reboot you phone into the bootloader. 2. Put you phone into fastboot mode and hook it up to you computer. 3. In terminal make sure you change your directory to you android SDK platform-tools folder. 4. Type fastboot oem readcid to get you CID. 5. Go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showt... and download the firmware.zip file for you CID. 6. One you firmware is downloaded. You will need to rename it to firmware.zip as the file is actually name 3.14.xxx.xx.zip. 7. once you rename it put it in the platform-tools folder located in the android sdk or where ever you have your fastboot file located. Flashing the firmware.zip file ok now we are going to flash the firmware.zip file just like you flash a kernel. 1. Reboot your phone into your bootloader 2. open command terminal and cd to the folder where you placed the firmware.zip file at 3. hook you phone up to the usb and make sure it say fastboot usb on the phone. 4. type fastboot oem lock (this will lock your bootloader. Don't worry you can unlock it later at htcdev.com) 5. type fastboot oem rebootRUU(the phone will reboot and show HTC) 6. type fastboot flash zip firmware.zip(it may fail the first time if so reboot the phone and do 5 & 6 again) 7. if the flashing of firmware.zip worked it will say okay.(when you reboot the phone you will not have a recovery installed) 8. go to http://www.htcdev.com/ to unlock your phone. you should already have an account since your phone was unlocked already. 9. Follow the instructions on HTCDev. 10. When you get to needing the identifier token reboot your phone into the bootloader. while the phone is off hold power + vol down until is goes into the bootloader. 11. put phone into fastboot and hook it up to your computer. 12. type fastboot oem get_identifier_token(it will give you a list you need to copy and paste into HTCDev to get you unlock_code.bin file 13. HTCDev will email you and in the e-mail it will have you unlock_code.bin file you need. 14. Save unlock_code.bin file where you put the firmware.zip file. 15. with the phone still in the fastboot mode type fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin(your bootloader will now be unlocked. remember you still don't have a recovery installed.) 16. type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img(whatever custom recovery you used to do your nandroid) 17. select HBOOT and reboot into recovery and flash your nandroid.(you phone will be back to new and w/ a new HBOOT)
