It is the third tier in the Indian team selection procedure for the International Mathematical Olympiad and is conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) under the aegis of the National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM). Students who have been nominated as INMO Merit Awardees for the previous INMO are invited to write the exam directly. Approximately 900 students qualify for INMO INMO was first started in 1989 and has been conducted every year since then. This exam is used to select about 45 students for the International Mathematics Olympiad Training Camp. The exam is a four-hour exam with six questions. Students have to solve the given problems on the answer sheet and submit it along with the rough sheets at the end of the exam. The items are with increased difficulty that those in RMO. After clearing INMO (Indian National Mathematical Olympiad), students receive certificate and invitation expenses for lodging-boarding in training camp at HBCSE Mumbai. After clearing NHBM, students will be eligible for participating in the IMO (International Mathematical Olympiad). Then the International ticket is given to students from the Ministry of HRD. A team of 6 selected students to go to the decided international venue for global competition. INMO Eligibility / Selection Criteria: Students selected for INMO are chosen based on their performance in RMO. A maximum of the top 28 students from classes 8, 9, 10 and 11 and a maximum number of the top 6 students from grade 12 are selected to participate in INMO in each region. In the case of ties between scores, the PRMO score will be used as the tiebreaker. If the PRMO score cannot break the score, the final list sent to HBCSE will consist of all such candidates. Up to 5 students studying in Non–KV CBSE schools outside India and a maximum of 5 students studying in KV schools outside India may be selected to appear directly for the INMO examination. CBSE and KVS, respectively, will make the selection of these students. Five additional girls are selected ONLY FROM STUDENTS STUDYING IN CLASSES 8, 9, 10 and 11, not including the students for each region. Instructions for students: Students are instructed to reach 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam. Do not forget to carry your Admit Card along with the Student Identity Card for verification purposes. Use of calculators at any cost in forbidden in the exam. Students are requested to bring their own Pen, pencil and all other required credentials. Rough sheets will be provided during the Exam. Each answer should start on a new page. At the end of the exam, students should submit their Answer sheet along with the rough sheet. Students can retain the Question Paper.
