Am 31. Mai 2022 wird eine Gruppe Kajakfahrer von der Stauraumspülung des noch nicht in Betrieb genommenen Kraftwerks Tumpen-Habichen im Ötztal überrascht. Eine gefährliche Situation, vor der WET schon seit 2020 warnt. Danke an das CircleBoofTeam Lasse, Hajo, Magnus und Anneke für das Videomaterial! +++English:+++ These guys got surprised by a sudden flooding of the Wellerbrücke section in May 2022 on Ötztaler Ache when the Tumpen-Habichen dam flushed. It flushed - without warning and although the plant is not yet operating! Luckily nothing serious happenend, but this incident proved what we were trying to make clear since 2020: the flushings cause large changes of the water level and big trouble. The hydro power plant operator Ötztaler Wasserkraft GmbH has to make sure the reservoir flushings do not threaten the lifes of kayakers or anyone near the riverbank. We want them to finally listen to us, take the issue serious, agree on a fixed time for the flushings and install a gauge in Huben to monitor the water level changes.
