Why Numerology Is WRONG & DANGEROUS
Numerology (also known as arithmancy) is the study of an occult, divine or mystical relationship between a number and one or more coinciding events. It is also the study of the numerical value, via an alphanumeric system, of the letters in words and names. This occult practice is found within many Christian circles today. While number themes are used throughout the Bible, the meanings are defined within Scripture. There is no “secret interpretation” garnered from a specific person or group. Christians who mix numerology with their faith are dipping their toes into the waters of the occult. Equating book, chapter, and verse numbers to dates, programming, or mental imagery that was “given to you” are found within the occult. Giving your mind over to searching for meaning within ordinary things can open doors to more dangerous practices. Remember, God is not the author of confusion. The Bible should verify any message to you. There are no private interpretations within the faith.
