WEEK IN THE LIFE of a Medical Student at Oxford | first week of term (vlog)

It’s the first week of term in the new school year, October 2021, as restrictions are gradually easing in the UK and we emerge expectantly into a fresh new beginning. Inviting you to experience the life of a second-year medical student at the University of Oxford. Featuring the first few lectures/practicals/tutorials, studying, sports, pretty buildings and snippets of daily life. For a long time, I honestly thought I’d never muster the strength and courage (or set aside the time and energy and patience) to edit and publish another YouTube video. But I guess… the concept of time is fluid. This summer, stepping away from school for some time has allowed me to heal, slowly but surely. Second year was way too intense for me to devote much time to non-work/study-related matters. Easing of COVID restrictions meant that there was so much more to be done – more exciting, perhaps, but also more exhausting. This video is a commemoration of the past me, a major throwback to the good old days before being hit by burnout and sinking into depression. Can’t believe I put in all that effort (!) – the only week which I succeeded in consistently filming every day. I almost wanted to leave completely for good, but I thought “I can’t just waste all that effort”. It’s not the best editing, but I hope you enjoy! :’) WHO AM I? I’m a medical student at Oxford University, coming all the way from Singapore (international student)! I’ll be using this channel to document my journey and share simple tips and advice for aspiring medics and/or Oxbridge students :) Hopefully this will give you some insight into what it’s like to be a student at Oxford.
