Episode 1163 After visiting Belle Vue, Alan (Alan Browning) fondly recalls his lost youth spent at the fair. Minnie (Margot Bryant) is upset after Bobby the Cat is startled by Paul's (Nigel Greaves) toy Tommy gun. Jerry (Graham Haberfield) is irritated by Len (Peter Adamson) and Ray (Neville Buswell) taking charge of his boat project. Maggie (Irene Sutcliffe) tells Ken (Bill Roache) about her suspicions regarding Lucille (Jennifer Moss) forging her reference for the warehouse job. During a kick-about with Paul in the street, Alan accidentally puts the ball through the Ogdens' front window and makes a run for it. Stan (Bernard Youens) is determined to find the culprit and Alan eventually comes clean when Stan starts pointing the finger at Paul. Lucille admits to Maggie she faked her reference. Paul's attempt to help Bobby's tummy trouble goes horribly wrong as he ends up poisoning the poor Cat with Andrews Liver Salts. Alan takes Paul to the station to catch his train back to Birmingham. Maggie gets called to the warehouse much to Lucille's horror. Stan makes a pig's ear of replacing his windowpane much to Ray's amusement.
